Dance Like No One is Watching...

So often we get so wrapped up in what our lives look like to everyone else, that we forget to just do what looks right for us. Social media has sort of taken over as the new "reality", perceived reality, and it becomes a competition of who has their shit together best. We should all know by now, that social media is like the highlight reel of a movie. No one's lives are this good all the time. Everyone is struggling with something that none of us will ever be privy to. So when you are going through your day today, feeling bad about your personal failures, thinking you aren't as good as all of your social media friends, presuming that you aren't living up to their standards... just remember - NONE of it truly matters to anyone but YOU. "Dance like no one's watching" has always been a phrase to me that means more than just "be yourself". To me, it means do everything you do - like no one is watching. Succeed, fail, cry, fall, smile, everything that a human can do - do it like no one is watching. Because in the end, the only one you should be living for, is yourself. Sure you should be striving for whatever it is you need to bring to your family, or friends, or career. BUT - no one else's approval or disapproval would matter, if all of a sudden, the world ended and you were the last valiant creature standing. Which let's be honest folks, could happen at any point in time. So why not just do everything you want, like no one is watching. And then maaaaaybe, we will all seem human to each other again, and there won't be boundaries like pride and status stopping us from connecting to each other on a deeper level.
